2023 Porsche Classic Restoration Challenge – Engine Out!

Time for the second update on our 2023 Porsche Classic Restoration Challenge entry!

In our previous post(https://www.autobahnporsche.com/journal/2023-porsche-classic-restoration-challenge-first-step/), we did a full inspection and assessment of our 1978 911SC. We checked every nook and cranny inside and out of the vehicle, then came up with a game plan for our restoration process.

Today’s update is short, but we’ve pulled the engine and transmission out!

During our inspection, the engine was in good shape, and with it out, we’ve gotten a better look and confirmed that it and the transmission are in good condition.

With the engine and transmission out, the next step is to bring it back to factory spec. Meanwhile, Jeff will remove more bits and pieces from the body before it gets sent to the body shop. So stay tuned for that update!
