The Perfectly Irrational Porsche 718 Cayman GT4
The Porsche 718 Cayman GT4 is the perfect sports car for those who like to push the limits.
Sporting a 4.0L naturally aspirated flat-six engine making 414hp and 309 lb-ft of torque, a redline of 8,000 rpm, and a six-speed manual transmission as standard, the 718 Cayman GT4 is potent at the track or on the road.
Developed by the Porsche Motorsport department, the 718 Cayman GT4 is one of the most exciting variants of the 718 Porsches. The new sports exhaust system is designed specifically for the flat-six, and it sings all the way up to 8,00 rpm. As a result, the 718 Cayman GT4 accelerates from 0 to 60 in 4.2 seconds and can reach 188mph on the track! For the suspension, Porsche Active Suspension Management (PASM) is set up with adaptive dampers helper springs on the rear axle, allowing for a lower ride height than the standard 718 Cayman. The brakes are adopted from the 991.2 911 GT3, and the optional Porsche Ceramic Composite Brake system is also available. Lastly, a mechanical limited-slip differential with Porsche Torque Vectoring is standard to help maintain maximum grip.
Inside, the interior is focused on the driver and Porsche’s motorsport heritage. For example, the GT Sport steering wheel measures 14.1 inches, the shift lever is 0.78 inches lower than the standard 718 Cayman, and the standard Sport Seats Plus has raised side bolsters for lateral support. In addition, the steering wheel rim, seat centers, shift lever, and the lower part of the dashboard are dressed in Alcantara. And Full Bucket Seats or the electronically adjustable 18-way Adaptive Sport Seats Plus are available as options.
As you’ll see in the video, the 718 Cayman GT4s have made their way to Fort Worth and are available for orders. Contact your favorite Porsche Sales Representative for more information! And stay tuned for the little teaser you saw at the end of the video…
