Best of 2022!
It’s time to take a look back at your and our favorite Autobahn Journal posts in 2022! When we started the Journals in January, our goal was to highlight the best of the best and deliver informative and visually pleasing content. And after a year’s worth of content, we’re excited to continue the journals for 2023!
For Porsche, we have three posts across our Facebook and Instagram pages that you guys loved. And for a bit of fun, let me, your dear writer/photographer/videographer, insert a few comments about the posts.Â
2023 Porsche Classic Restoration Challenge – Intro
https://www.autobahnporsche.com/journal/2023-porsche-classic-restoration-challenge-intro/
We’re not surprised that this is one of y’all’s favorite posts this year; this is one of our favorite posts too! A classic Porsche in Guards Red and the Cork interior? Yes please!Â
As a car enthusiast, classic Porsches have always had a mystical aura that surrounds them. I’ve mostly seen them in car shows or museums and never really had the chance to experience them. But that changed when this Porsche showed up. Before we parked it in front of our showroom, I had an opportunity to sit shotgun and go shakedown the car, and that was really a magical experience! I can’t wait to show y’all the car after the restoration; it’s gonna be amazing!
2022 Porsche Sports Car Together Fest
https://www.autobahnporsche.com/journal/2022-porsche-sports-car-together-fest/
Once again, we’d like to thank everyone for coming to the Porsche Sportscar Together Fest 2022 at Autobahn Porsche! What a fun event full of cool cars, great food, and great music.Â
I can’t pick a favorite moment from that party. Watching the 918 Spyder get parked in the showroom was a nerve-wracking experience. And when the GT3s and GTS parked up front, I immediately ran out of the building to take one of my favorite photos of the year.Â
2023 Porsche Cayenne GTS
https://www.autobahnporsche.com/journal/2023-porsche-cayenne-gts/
Great car in a fantastic spec, congrats to its new owners!Â
The Cayenne GTS being one of the top 3 posts, even though it’s only a month old, is fascinating! We had a streak of 911s preceding the Cayenne GTS post, and as much as we all love 911s, it felt nice to break that streak and post something different.Â
Facebook Favorite: 2022 Porsche 911 GT3 in Nardo Gray
https://www.autobahnporsche.com/journal/2022-porsche-911-gt3/
This unique 911 GT3 is truly a stunner! On top of the Nardo Gray paint-to-sample option, this was customized with a couple of other options that put it in the upper echelon of unique 911s to go through our showroom.
This 911, next to the Shark Blue Cayman GT4, was eye-watering. When I was making the video of the GT4, there were times when I just wanted to stop and stare at both vehicles because, at that time at least, having both next to each other was an anomaly due to supply chain issues. And starting the Porsche Journal with those two vehicles was like hitting the jackpot.Â
Instagram Favorite: 2022 Porsche 718 Spyder in Forest Green Metallic
https://www.autobahnporsche.com/journal/2022-porsche-718-spyder/
Like the Nardo Gray GT3 above, this Forest Green 718 Spyder was another meticulously specced Porsche. The green and gold color combo is definitely captivating!Â
This 718 Spyder was such a jaw-dropper! Of course, British Racing Green is my favorite shade of green on any vehicle, but Forest Green might be up there, especially when paired with gold wheels.Â
Personal Favorite: 2023 Porsche Taycan 4S
https://www.autobahnporsche.com/journal/2023-porsche-taycan-4s/
Out of the 40+ posts I’ve done throughout the year, this Taycan 4S is my favorite shoot for Porsche all year. Everything above was fun and exciting, but the Taycan 4S felt oddly relaxing? Jumping in the very comfortable driver’s seat and the smooth power delivery, thanks to the electric drivetrain, made it an enjoyable experience.
Getting to an empty Trinity Park and the camera working so well also contributed to the relaxing vibe. I was shooting with a Sony A7RII and an ultra vintage Nikon 50mm f/1.4 lens from the 70s and the juxtaposition of shooting the future with a lens from the past is intriguing.Â
Anyway, I hope y’all enjoyed looking back to 2022 as much as we did, and stay tuned for 2023, as we’ve got even bigger things planned for the journal.Â
Thanks for reading, and have a Happy New Year!Â
