2023 Porsche Classic Restoration Challenge – Almost There

We’re almost there!!!

In our last update, we worked on getting the wiring in our 1978 Porsche 911SC for the Porsche Classic Restoration Challenge(https://www.autobahnporsche.com/journal/2023-porsche-classic-restoration-challenge-wiring/). A few days later we took it out of the shop for a little preview at our Autobahn Porsche Coffee & Donuts event(https://www.autobahnporsche.com/journal/autobahn-porsche-coffee-donuts/).

Today, the interior is getting put back together. The gorgeous-looking “Cork” interior was restored by cleaning, restitching, and giving it some major TLC to make it look factory fresh. The dashboard looked great when we got it a year ago, but the restoration gave it a bit more pop. The seats and carpeting were thoroughly cleaned and brought back to life. Gone is the patina from having a 40-year-old car.

On top of that, the air-cooled flat-six engine has been put back in the engine bay… but more on that in the next update.
