Two years ago, we participated in the challenge by restoring a 1978 Porsche 911SC Targa, and now we’re proud to introduce our entry for the 5th year of the challenge, this 2008 Porsche Cayman S!
You might be wondering why a Cayman S? That’s because this Cayman is one heck of a warrior, with 189,827 miles on the odometer when we took her in for the project:
We picked this specific example as it demonstrates Porsche’s commitment to building the best cars in the world; the internals of this Cayman S are bone stock, and thanks to the previous owner’s diligence in maintaining this vehicle, the 189,000-mile drivetrain has not seen any rebuild whatsoever.
Our goal for this Cayman is two-fold: to restore the within Porsche’s guidelines, and upon the end of the challenge, this Cayman S will have crossed over 200,000 miles, making it one of the highest-mileage vehicles in the challenge.
